Donald Trump has seen a 2.7% increase on Polymarket, a decentralized prediction platform, in the race against current Vice President Kamala Harris. This rise occurred after billionaire investor Elon Musk made his first appearance at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.
Polymarket Prediction Odds
According to Polymarket, Trump now holds 51.0% odds of winning the upcoming presidential election, while Kamala Harris trails closely behind at 48.3%.
Musk’s Influence Boosts Trump’s Chances
The upward trend for Trump is largely attributed to Elon Musk’s endorsement during the rally. Musk urged attendees to support Trump, calling the upcoming election “the most important election of our lifetime.” Additionally, Musk criticized the Democratic Party, suggesting that they pose a threat to constitutional rights. His endorsement has seemingly led to an increase in Trump’s supporter base.
Musk on Polymarket’s Accuracy
Elon Musk also weighed in on the accuracy of Polymarket predictions, stating that they are “more accurate” than traditional polling methods. He highlighted that real money is at stake, making these predictions more reliable.
“Trump now leading Kamala by 3% in betting markets. More accurate than polls, as actual money is on the line,” Musk tweeted.
Contrasting National Polls
Despite Polymarket’s predictions, national polling data shows a different picture. According to The New York Times, Harris is currently leading Trump with 49%, while Trump holds 47%. Just last week, according to Cryptonews, Harris led Trump by a narrow 1% margin. At the time, Harris had 50% of the total vote on Polymarket, with Trump close behind at 49%.
Rally Highlights and Trump’s Commitment
During the rally, Musk asked the crowd who they believed should be the next American president, to which the audience overwhelmingly responded in favor of Trump.
Trump reaffirmed his commitment to “making America great again,” stating that his resolve has only grown stronger after surviving an assassination attempt in Butler. He also accused the Democratic Party of attempting to erode American values.
Silk Road Founder Release Hinted
In a surprising turn, Trump hinted once again at the potential release of Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road. However, neither Trump nor Musk made any direct comments regarding the cryptocurrency industry during the event.
