Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy has achieved a significant milestone by making its largest Bitcoin purchase to date. According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on November 18, the company acquired 51,780 BTC for $4.6 billion at an average price of $88,627 per coin.
Combined Purchases Total Nearly 80,000 BTC in November
This latest acquisition follows the company’s purchase of 27,200 BTC for $2.03 billion just a week earlier. Together, these transactions bring MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin purchases in November to nearly 80,000 BTC, valued at over $6.6 billion.
Bolstered Bitcoin Holdings and Year-to-Date Yield
The firm’s aggressive Bitcoin buying spree has pushed its total holdings to 331,200 BTC, acquired for $16.5 billion at an average price of $49,875 per coin. At current market rates, these holdings are worth approximately $30 billion.
Additionally, MicroStrategy revealed that its latest acquisition increased its year-to-date Bitcoin yield to 41.8%. This yield serves as a key performance indicator to assess how the firm’s Bitcoin strategy benefits its shareholders.
Stock Price Reacts Minimally
Despite the scale of this acquisition, MicroStrategy’s stock price showed only slight movement. Pre-market trading data from Google Finance reflected a modest 0.23% increase, highlighting minimal market response.
MicroStrategy Outpaces Bitcoin ETFs in November
MicroStrategy’s recent Bitcoin purchases surpass the monthly acquisitions of all US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). According to HODL15Capital, ETFs accumulated 38,615 BTC as of November 15, with BlackRock’s IBIT leading the charge by acquiring over 37,000 BTC.

The company’s robust BTC acquisition strategy has reshaped its financial structure and solidified its reputation as a strong proponent of digital asset adoption.
