Early Beginnings and Personal Histories
The lead developers of Shiba Inu (SHIB), Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya, recently shared their personal stories in an interview with Arabian Business. This was their first-ever interview, revealing details about their past lives.
Kusama, who is fluent in six languages, once worked as an Uber driver in Los Angeles. He has also dabbled in various fields such as music, photography, and being a barista. Dhairya, known for his tech prowess, was a part-time food delivery courier in New York.
The Beginning of Their Collaboration
Kusama’s journey into technology began when he met a wealthy individual during his time as an Uber driver. Inspired by the man’s advice to enter the tech industry, Kusama started trading cryptocurrency as a hobby. He invested $4,000 and saw significant returns. He then joined the Shiba Inu chatroom, which had only 6,000 members at the time, and invested $3,000 in the meme token.
After reading a blog by SHIB’s creator, Ryoshi, Kusama pitched an idea that received immediate approval. Realizing he needed assistance, Kusama enlisted Dhairya, offering him a year’s salary to join the project. Dhairya, who understood SHIB’s vision, did not hesitate to join.
Goal: World’s First Trillion-Dollar Decentralized Entity
Created by Ryoshi in August 2020, SHIB aims to surpass Dogecoin. The plan involves creating five tokens and multiple technologies, including SHIB, BONE, LEASH, TREAT (yet to be launched), and a stablecoin called SHI, along with Shiba Swap. Kusama explained that the goal is to become the world’s first trillion-dollar decentralized entity. They envision SHIB leading the transition from Web2 to Web3, with memes acting as a gateway to crypto and blockchain.
A Franchise with Ethos
Ryoshi envisioned SHIB as an experiment, wanting the community to handle marketing rather than paying influencers. Kusama mentioned that this cooperative spirit aims to build the world’s largest decentralized community. Dhairya described SHIB as a “franchise with ethos,” where people build their own projects, and the developers amplify their messages. To join the SHIB movement, individuals must pass a checklist ensuring they align with the community’s values.
Future Leadership Changes
Despite SHIB being the 13th largest cryptocurrency, Kusama and Dhairya plan to maintain their anonymity. By the end of the year, they intend to hand over leadership to community committees. Kusama highlighted the value of their anonymity, allowing them to live without security concerns or recognition.
