Digital Asset Exchange Archax Adds State Street, Fidelity and LGIM to Platform

Archax, a UK-based exchange regulated by the FCA, has announced the inclusion of funds from State Street, Fidelity International, and LGIM on its tokenized real-world asset (RWA) platform. The platform aims to provide innovative solutions for digital asset investments.

Beneficial Ownership Tokens

The company revealed plans to mint beneficial ownership tokens, which will represent clients’ holdings in these money market funds. This initiative allows investors to hold tokenized assets with added security and transparency.

Initial Fund Offerings

Initially, Archax will offer tokenized versions of select funds, including:

  • State Street: USD/GBP/EUR Liquidity LVNAV Funds
  • Fidelity International: ILF USD/Sterling/Euro Funds
  • LGIM: Sterling/USD/Euro Liquidity Funds

Archax plans to expand its offerings over time, adding more fund options to meet the evolving needs of its clients.

Backing by Abrdn and Technology Integration

Archax is supported by Abrdn, a leading asset manager. In 2023, the company introduced tokenized investments in Abrdn’s money market funds through its trading platform, leveraging Hedera Hashgraph technology. Its first blockchain-based investment involved the tokenization of the Lux Sterling money market fund.

Growing Popularity of Tokenized RWAs

Tokenized real-world assets are gaining significant traction in the financial sector. According to Archax CEO and co-founder Graham Rodford:

“Tokenized real-world assets, particularly funds, are rapidly gaining momentum. Tokenization offers enhanced distribution, liquidity, and innovative applications like collateral transfer.”

Supported Blockchains

Archax’s beneficial ownership tokens will initially be available on three key blockchains:

  • Hedera Hashgraph
  • XRPL
  • Arbitrum

By leveraging these blockchains, Archax ensures secure and efficient access to tokenized RWAs.

Targeting Qualified Investors

As tokenization continues to grow, Archax enables professional and institutional investors to access greater liquidity and diversified investment options. However, these funds are available exclusively to qualified investors in jurisdictions where they are registered.
